Winter holidays can be a rough time for kids and teenagers if they don’t have any big skiing trips planned. And let’s face it - quite many of them stay at home. Why shouldn’t they have fun? Stary Browar came up with an idea of organizing great holiday adventures for children, both traditional ones, like board games, puzzles and innovative ones - with the use of the newest available technologies. The idea on the Online/Offline event was not only to fill children’s time with fun, but also to teach them something new. And as the most innovative shopping center in Poland and probably in Europe befits, these adventures had to be not only engaging but also innovative. DT was responsible for the digital part of the event, focused on introducing the state-of-the-art interactive technologies to young people.

Solution

We delivered all the tools necessary for kids to get familiar with today’s technologies, such as Virtual Reality Goggles, Leap Motion sensors, Microsoft Kinect, Interactive totem and Interactive games. For most of the kids it was their first contact with this kind of equipment. They could get to know and understand the path which technology is taking. The path which will lead them to their future. They could follow this path on multiple occasions throughout the week while the event was taking place and our exhibition was on.

Results

As expected children and teenagers who participated in Online/ offline winter holiday in Stary Browar loved it. Virtual Reality devices were truly fascinating to them. But we were happy to notice that as much as a chance to immerse oneself into virtual reality can be captivating, these young people did enjoy the traditional games as well. The future may belong to virtual reality, but who doesn’t love occasional play at jackstraws or domino for a change.
